Building tech that serves communities

From a small cyber cafe at the foot of Kasigau Hill to a trusted technology partner for businesses across Kenya — our journey is rooted in solving real problems for real people.

Our beginning

Voi Town, Taita Taveta — where it all started

Our story

Wakali Labs began in 2019 with a simple observation: too many communities in Taita Taveta lacked reliable internet and access to modern technology. We believed that technology should be a bridge, not a barrier.

What started as a small cyber cafe along Distar Hostel street in Voi, and another in Eldoret, grew organically. We offered CCTV installations to homes, offices, and schools — helping people feel safer while learning their needs firsthand.

We listened to real struggles: students unable to submit assignments, businesses losing sales to poor connectivity, churches wanting better record-keeping. Each problem became an opportunity to serve better.

Today, we run fibre through Rukanga, provide IT support across the region, and build custom software for organizations nationwide. Our name — Wakali — reflects our roots and commitment to community excellence.

Our Philosophy

"Technology can change everything."

At Wakali Labs, we believe technology is more than devices and code — it is a tool that can transform lives, grow businesses, and connect communities.

The right technology turns simple ideas into powerful solutions and opens doors to opportunities once thought impossible.

With every system we build, every device we restore, and every connection we create, we move closer to a smarter, more connected Kenya.

Our mission

To deliver reliable, affordable, and innovative technology solutions that empower individuals, businesses, and communities in Kenya — starting from the slopes of Kasigau and reaching every corner of the nation.

Our vision

A digitally connected Kenya where every home, school, and business can access the tools and skills they need to thrive in a modern world — with no community left behind.
